Renting Bed Lofts

Q: Is it necessary to reserve a bed loft during the summer, or can I rent once I get to campus?
A: If you are interested in renting a bed loft, reserving one over the summer is the only way to guarantee availability. Our lofting program has been very popular, and although we are continually adding to our inventory, the only way to make sure a loft is available is to reserve it. Be warned, if you do not reserve a loft you may end up on a waiting list.

Q: Can lofts be delivered early?
A: No. Lofts can be picked up during the designated times listed in the Fall Distribution Schedule (this schedule is posted during the spring and summer months until mid-August).

Q: What happens if I change my mind?
A: All monies paid to reserve a unit are refundable, minus a $10.00 processing fee if paid by credit card. Just stop by one of our distribution locations and let us know you would like to cancel. We will issue a refund back to the credit card used for the purchase.

Q: Will I need any tools to assemble my bed loft?
A: No. All hardware is fastened with wing nuts.

Q: Can a shelf be added after I pick up my bed loft?
A: Yes, in most cases you will be able to pick it up on the spot, though it is possible that it may have to be dropped off at a later date.

Q: Is black the only color the bed lofts come in?
A: Yes, black is the only color, with one exception: several halls at NDSU use gray.

Q: How heavy are the lofts?
A: The bed loft comes with three main pieces; the total weight of the unit is approximately 75 lbs.

Q: How many people will it take to carry the loft back to my room?
A: It can easily be handled by two people.

Q: I would like to place a couch under my loft. What are the inside dimensions?
A: This information can be found by choosing the specific school you will be attending from our schools page.

Renting Refrigerators

Q: Is it necessary to reserve a refrigerator during the summer, or can I rent one once I get to campus?
A: If you are interested in a refrigerator, pre-registration, although recommended, is not mandatory. In most cases you will be able to rent one once you arrive on campus, though it is possible that it may be dropped off at a later date.

Q: What happens if I change my mind?
A: All monies paid to reserve a unit are refundable, minus a $10.00 processing fee if paid by credit card. We will issue a refund back to the credit card used for the purchase.

Q: Do the refrigerators have freezers?
A: The compact refrigerators are primarily used as refrigerators, but in each model there is a cooling unit that does make it possible to freeze ice cubes.

Q: What happens in the event the refrigerator stops working, or is not working to my satisfaction?
A: We would deliver a replacement unit.

Q: When and where will I be able to pick up my unit?
A: This information can be found by choosing the specific school you will be attending from our schools page.

Assigning Your Contract to Another Student

Q: How do I assign my rental contract to another student?
A: For bed lofts and refrigerators, you must print out an assignment letter, sign it with original signatures, and return it to College Services.
